Is because one cannot escape from their own roots and tastes. I ADORE the gothic, vampire, gore, surrealsm, SciFi, aesthetic (in literature, images, movies, poems, movies).
Yes, is quite a mensage, a common sense (not so common, but if you have it, you feel it).

I must disagree with you mate...
those aren´t bad shadows at all, au contraire...
...are the BEST shadows I´ve ever done in my life!
I wanted to create the cabaret feel in my image (low lights, more shadows, almost darkness, red red red and a beauty entertainer girl). All this in a movie hall. The only thing left out, was the smoke, but I didn´t want if for this image.
I could have lite it from the front (as many people should do) or at 45º (as others do), but I WANTED FROM BEHIND, and that´s the diference...
There´s still enough light to see her face, her uber-attitude, her sensuality and strongness, but not light at all.
Is Psicological.
I could read that you dont liked it, but bad lightning...sorry...not in this picture

Ok, I did not understand the image... lack of culture and musical entertainement lately... Say, and I agree it makes a real difference, I really do not like this image. But if you designed it this way and are happy with it, then it's a good photo.
