Oh you are so welcome.. i'm glad to have this in my journal.. i think it's a really wonderful picture.. i'm just sorry that it has taken me *this* long to comment on it!
I think you captured a really classic style here.. i will not say this looks GQ, this looks a bit like a modern mobster movie scene. I love the dramatic shadows and lighting, he's illuminated in all the right places!. I really like that i can see only little bits of his face.. mere traces of the outlines and then my mind automatically fills in the rest. Really great mood and really great photo.. it's a beautiful black and white. I find this man so very attractive... he seems so dangerous but at the same time there is a tenderness there. Like i said a million times already, great work.. you captured something damn good
Gal, It´s the kind of comments that one wishes to hear! Yeah, you´re right, Is partof the magic, the re-construction of the images upin the feelings. It´s very Gestalt, the mind completes the misisng information!
In you write another post like that I´m gonna fall in love! Hehehehe
i took a good stare at both the color and b&w for sometime, and b&w is my preference.
there is an elegance presented in this version that was missing in the color photo. the strong silhouetted model made a very simple composition in the photo. though there is a strong composition, i like how the shadows have blocked away the light from his face. but one thing that slightly bothers, me is his right eye. even though i'm strong believer of unedited photos... that would still be something i'd dodge out wheter in the darkroom or with photoshop. it is the mysterious looks about how the shadows work, how it draws me in.
